Great Bend Regional Hospital Delivers 500 Babies in Two Years
August 9, 2011
Great Bend Regional Hospital has celebrated more than 500 unique bundles of joy since opening a little more than two years ago. The hospital celebrated its 500th baby delivery on Aug. 9. Caden Lee Lohmann, was born to Jonathan Lohmann and Christina Kaspar. (Photo left of Lohmann family: Jonathan Lohmann, Crhistina Kasper and newborn Jonathan.)
The parents received gift certificates, as well as an overflowing basket of goodies for their newborn.
Dr. Roger Marshall delivered Caden. It’s fitting that he delivered the first baby at GBRH when it became a full-service hospital. On July 6, 2009, parents Matt and Krysten Watkins, as well as big sister, Reese, welcomed Grant Matthew Watkins – GBRH’s first delivery – into their family.
Last month, the hospital staff gathered for a reception held in the OB department to commemorate the milestone for the hospital and to celebrate with the family. The OB unit functions with the medical expertise of Dr. Roger Marshall, Dr. Jodi Henrikson, Dr. Perry Smith, Dr. Jeff Brozek, and Dr. Teri Turkle as well as the support of the pediatricians, Dr. Marta Edmonds, Dr. Ryan Williams, and Dr. Christopher Koster, all with the Great Bend Children’s Clinic.
GBRH’s Heartland Women’s and Children’s Center offers a top-notch nursing staff and is equipped with a Level II Nursery, four pediatric rooms, four labor and delivery rooms, and four Postpartum rooms.
