What should I bring to the hospital when I have my surgery?
When can I eat before my surgery?
I have heard of surgery being performed on the wrong body part, should this be something that I worry about?
Will I be able to drive home?
How will my pain be treated after my surgery?
What are the signs and symptoms of infection following my surgery?
Are there any other symptoms that I should be worried about?
When can I see my family after my surgery or procedure?
What do the facility fees cover?
Who administers anesthesia?
Will I get to speak with the person doing my anesthesia before my surgery?
Will I get a shot before surgery?
Is my physician employed by this facility?
What should I bring to the hospital when I have my surgery?
Your medications if you were told to bring them with you. Keep you medications in the original bottles, but leave your narcotics at home.
A copy of your driver’s license and insurance cards.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Eyeglasses. You will not be able to wear contact lenses.
Dentures, hearing aids and cases in which to store them.
Do not wear hair spray, body lotion or perfume.
Do not wear any jewelry (including wedding rings, earrings and piercings), makeup or nail polish.
Leave valuables at home.
