  • Whether pain is associated with certain positions

 

Your doctor may also recommend imaging tests to evaluate the nature of your injury. Those tests may include:

  • CT scan to examine the joint structure

  • Ultrasound to view ligaments and tendons

  • X-ray to identify or rule out broken bones

  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to view soft tissue in the foot and ankle

 

Foot and ankle injury treatment

Treatment for foot and ankle injuries may include at-home therapies such as exercises, ice or heat application. It could also include physical therapy, medication or surgery.
