Laboratory

 

The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus laboratory offers comprehensive services and provides accurate and timely test results. The department is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to complement all in-house medical needs. Our lab provides services to both outpatients and inpatients. Many tests are performed in-house while other tests are sent out and results are available usually with 24-48 hours. Qualified, highly trained personnel perform the tests from the time the blood is drawn until the final result is obtained. Orders for the labs can be from any appropriate provider including those from out of town. Results will be sent to the ordering provider when they are final.

 

A complete blood bank service is also available with blood and blood products provided by the American Red Cross of Kansas in Wichita.

• Chemistry profiles to screen for specific disease processes

• Special chemistry profiles to screen for cancers, heart attacks, CHF and thyroid problems

• Complete bacteriology services to rule out infections

• Screening for strep, flu, mono, RSV, pregnancy
