Emergency Department Welcomes Nurse Practitioner to Team

Kristin Zenner, APRN, FNP-C

The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus welcomes Kristin Zenner, APRN, a certified family nurse practitioner, to the care team in the Emergency Department.

Prior to joining the health system, Zenner worked as an RN for 6 years in inpatient pediatrics at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She also worked as an RN in the Emergency Department at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis.

“I love pediatrics, but my true passion is in the emergency room, where you get to work with patients of all ages,” Zenner says. “I chose the ER for the unknown. I enjoy not knowing what I will see and the opportunity to learn something new with each patient.”

Zenner earned her Associate of Science in nursing from Pratt Community College. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing and her Master of Science in nursing family nurse practitioner from Chamberlain University in Addison, Illinois.

"My goal is to provide personalized care to every patient and provide exceptional treatment for their illness or injury," Zenner says.

When she is not working, Zenner enjoys spending time with her family and being in the outdoors.

In addition to the emergency care team, orthopedics and general surgery providers are on call to care for patients in the Emergency Department. The health system remains committed to providing excellent care as a designated Level IV Trauma Center for the region.
