The pediatrics care team at The University of Kansas Health System in Great Bend welcomes Rubi Spray, APRN, FNP-BC, FNP-C. Spray grew up in Great Bend and was herself a patient at Great Bend Children’s Clinic during her childhood.
"Life has truly come full circle for me," Spray says. "I had the opportunity to complete my training at the Children’s Clinic, and now I get to be a provider here, caring for the pediatric population of Great Bend."
Spray earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Newman University in Wichita and her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in Minneapolis. She is double board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Spray is bilingual in Spanish and looks forward to serving the Spanish-speaking community.
"My goal is to help my patients and their caregivers feel empowered about making medical decisions," Spray says. "I am passionate about preventive care and encourage my patients to be actively involved in their healthcare decisions. This leads to the best outcomes."
Spray and her family enjoy spending time together outdoors when she is not working. They also enjoy watching sports, including college basketball and Formula 1 auto racing. They especially love cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. Spray also enjoys reading and running in her downtime.
