The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus announces it has been recognized as a top performer in the 2024 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Study by Vizient, Inc. Great Bend Campus was recognized as No. 8 of 28 top performers in the community hospital cohort, which includes 364 community hospitals, for demonstrating excellence in delivering high-quality care. The Vizient Quality and Accountability Study has been conducted annually since 2005.
“We are proud to be recognized by Vizient for the high-quality care our team provides daily for our community,” said John Worden, Great Bend Campus administrator. “Our people do an outstanding job of maintaining their focus on quality and safety, and ensuring our patients receive the best possible care.”
The Vizient Quality and Accountability Study measures performance on the quality of patient care in six domains: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness and equity of care. The study factors in measures from the Vizient Clinical Data Base and includes performance data from the HCAHPS survey and the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network.
