After many years of working with The University of Kansas Health System to care for the babies and children of Great Bend, the Great Bend Children’s Clinic providers and staff joined the health system October 1, 2023. Over the years, the collaboration has included care for newborns at Great Bend Campus.
“A future together seemed a natural extension of our relationship,” Marta Edmonds, MD, founder of Great Bend Children’s Clinic, says. “We believe joining The University of Kansas Health System in Great Bend is the best decision for our patients, staff and care team. Our shared commitment to serving the community and providing excellent patient care is an ideal fit.”
Great Bend Children’s Clinic has cared for babies, children and teens in the area for more than three decades.
“We are so pleased to add the expertise of the Great Bend Children’s Clinic to our health system team,” says John Worden, Great Bend Campus administrator. “Expanding our pediatric services strengthens our commitment to care for the entire Great Bend community.”
The transition to join the health system requires a change in technology at the clinic, and this may result in some patient appointments being rescheduled. Affected patients will be contacted directly. Patient care and treatment plans will not be affected by the change.
